I wondered how they focused on advancing women in their company’s management and executive ranks.
Since many years in fact Marriott empower women and join in the effort by working with nonprofit organizations to develop skills and opportunities for women. Around the world, nearly 60% of managers are women.
A brilliant example of these values is the story of Antonella Ferro, General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Rome Central Park.
She’s able to embrace changes in her personal life and has become resilient after several years working with people, managing clear sense of purpose, which helps her view setbacks from a broader perspective.
Transformation has been well described as a process with three distinct phases: (1) preparing for change, (2) navigating the transition, and (3) building resilience of the new trajectory of development (Olsson et al. 2004)
We also talked about digital transformation that has effects in her business too, she explained me Marriott’s Worldwide Business Council global presence and purpose.
The purpose is to perpetuate culture, strengthen communities, advocate for Marriott’s business interests and lead cross-brand, social-driven initiatives, by supporting local and international program such as Rise Against Hunger.
